Anthony Cruz is a fairly consistent hitmaker (certainly not in the same category as a Don Smart who proclaims to be "the consistent year-to-year hitmaker") and he-s back on the trail with a new album (Penthouse/VP Records) and also a single which has been geting increased prominence, especially overseas.
Entitled Dem Block The Road, the single sits at the number three spot on both the South Florida Reggae Top 20 Singles Chart and the New York Top 30 Singles chart. Cruz, who is also a judge in the Tastee Talent Trail competition, recently returned from the US.
"I know that the song is doing well, but the people in foreign just embrace it totally, even more that here. The rotation on radio is more than I could ask for," he told the Observer.
The singer says he was encouraged by the support and hopes that it will just be a matter of time before Dem Block The Road is shown the same love by local radio.
